Henry Blackhart is Dead, a para-normal comedy written and produced by Charlie Carlson and directed by award-winning film-maker Gary Lester, was nominated for a Florida Choice Award at its official world premiere at The Treasure Coast International Film Festival in Port St Lucie, Florida on Saturday, January 31, 2009.
"I was extremely pleased to be going back to the Treasure Coast this year, " said Lester. "The St Lucie Film Society folks put on a first class film festival every year."
In 2008, Lester's film Eyewitness To History screened at Treasure Coast.
In 2009, the festival accepted two of Lester's films -- Bogart & Friends and Henry Blackhart is Dead.
"It was the official world premiere for both," said Lester, "and they honored us by nominating Blackhart for a Florida Choice Award. It doesn't get any better than that."

                                          Blackhart  creator Charlie Carlson
Lester also presented a Saturday morning workshop to film-makers and fans.
"I was especially happy to have Sebastian Doggart, an Emmy-winning producer/director from New York in the workshop," said Lester.
"His new film, Courting Condi, is the first musical-docu-tragi-comedy ever made, and it looks like it will be a blockbuster! Sebastian is a really neat guy."
Henry Blackhart is Dead is now available on DVD and has had sneak previews at The Museum of Arts & Science in Daytona Beach, Florida and also at the Cinematique Theater in Ormond Beach, Florida.
